Charlotte, NC – While celebrating its 25th anniversary of partnering exclusively with healthcare clients, EQ2, LLC is demoing a next generation mobile app and new dashboards for its “HEMS” CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) at the AAMI 2018 Conference and Expo in Long Beach, CA, June 1 – June 3, 2018. The company is also presenting on the topic of “Interoperability between CMMS and Medical Devices – An Exceptional Asset Lifecycle Management System” at the “AAMI Interoperability Experience”.

Booth #642 in the expo promises to be a festive atmosphere with a silver anniversary theme of “25 years dedicated entirely to healthcare” and a completely new booth experience. “The booth experience will be a fun one this year as we celebrate our longstanding dedication to healthcare,” Marketing Manager David Lawless said. “We are dedicated to always evolving our CMMS to meet the ever-changing management and maintenance challenges of the healthcare environment, which is so unique compared to other industries that CMMS often finds itself in. But HEMS or the ‘Hospital Equipment Management System’ is all about optimizing the user experience specifically for what hospitals need most.”

Ever since last year when Version 7 as part of “HEMS II” was announced at the AAMI Annual Conference, the EQ2 team has been very active in releasing new modules and features with the specific needs of their hospital customers in mind in areas such as HTM/Biomedical/Clinical Engineering, Facilities/Support Services, and Imaging. This year’s innovations are all about making things easy for the user, with the next generation mobile app, powerful department specific dashboards for analysis of information, and ADFS to add to the current offerings for Single Sign-on.

Next Generation Mobile App

The new HEMS mobile app exceeds the current mobile application with a new design that includes an interface with a great deal of information on each screen presented in a concise way. The backend automation capabilities of the app enable users to be able to quickly find what they need to easily respond to work order requests. The app can be used in offline mode when the mobile device has no service, and it will sync up to the live database later once online again.

Automatic call escalation ensures that urgent requests are addressed as soon as possible per the hospital corporate policy. Mobile device features of speech to text, barcode scanning, and photo-taking can be used to verbally add descriptions of work performed, access work orders for specific pieces of equipment, and to take photos of equipment to add to work orders. The app has many other features too and is available for iOS (Apple), Android, and Windows phones and tablets.

 Department Dashboard

Adding to the existing offering of numerous HEMS dashboards that organize information that is most needed, in formats mapped to specific roles and areas, is the new Department Dashboard. It provides a summary of real-time statuses for the key performance items most important to specific hospital areas such as surgery, nursing, ICU, etc.

Some of the information covered is for devices, availability, maintenance, capital planning, and budgeting: resulting in true actionable information.

ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services)

With ADFS (also sometimes known as “Single Sign On”), users do not need to login separately to HEMS or its many modules and dashboards when already logged into other programs and applications from the hospital.
